It is normal to feel anxious about staying in hospital. This is why you have the entire healthcare team of Busamed Modderfontein focused on your safety, comfort and wellbeing.

Admissions process

On admission, you will be required to complete a few admission forms, as well as provide documentation as requested by the admission clerk.

Admission Information: Private-patients:

A prepayment is required on hospitalisation from patients not covered by medical aid. It is suggested that private patients contact the Reception supervisor or the Administration Manager prior to admission to establish the estimated hospital cost.

Medical Aid Patients

Please consult with your medical aid scheme prior to admission, obtaining authorisation if necessary. Any short payments by your medical aid will be for your own account.

Medical aid card and SA Identification Document must be produced on admission; failure to produce this will result in the account being made private.

Private/semi-Private Rooms

Medical aid patients requesting private rooms will be expected to pay the private room rate on admission. Please note private rooms are subject to availability. The Executive suite is subject to availability – please enquire with Reception on the packages available.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

To ensure your admission and stay is as pleasurable as possible, the following essentials should be packed:

  • Medical aid authorisation number
  • Medical Aid Card
  • SA Identification Document
  • Admission letter from specialist
  • X-rays / Scans
  • Chronic medication in original packaging
  • Overnight bag with toiletries, sleepwear, and cotton underwear
  • Emergency contact person information (name, relationship, and telephone number)
  • Laptop lock (if you bring your laptop)
  • Comfortable clothes
  • Earphones
  • Cellphone charger
What NOT to bring with you:
  • Large amounts of cash
  • Perfume / after shave
  • Jewellery
  • Electronic equipment
