Notices and times

Busamed Visiting Policy:

We have reviewed our visiting policy and have implemented limited visiting, however in order to ensure the safety of your loved one, other patients, staff and yourself we request that the following guidelines are followed:

Visiting times are between:

11:00 and 12:00
15:00 and 16:00

Patients will be allowed to have one (1) visitor per visiting time for 30 minutes

  • Visitors may only visit one (1) patient in the hospital and may not visit other patients or walk around the hospital
  • Visitors must be 18 years and older, except in exceptional circumstances that is approved by Hospital Management
  • For critical and end of life patients, family visitation will be facilitated
  • Visiting will not be permitted in the wards where patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 are being cared for, except where arrangements are made for end of life visitation
  • One (1) Visitor may visit patients in the coffee shop but are required to observe all COVID-19 protocols
  • Prior to entering the hospital all visitors must undergo COVID-19 screening, PPE is to be maintained (masks are to be worn at all times and must cover nose and mouth) and compliance to hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette
  • All visitors are to maintain social distance (2m) from the patient that is being visited and with all other interactions whilst in the hospital
Emergency Centre
  • For all children seen in the EC one (1) parent will be accommodated
  • The staff will assist in facilitating a visit for all patients by one (1) visitor, this may be limited or refused if the patient numbers in the unit are such that physical distancing cannot be maintained or supervised
ICU/HCU
  • Visiting Hours are between 15:00 and 16:00 and are applicable to Non Covid-19 wards.
  • The staff will facilitate the visit between the given time period, this may be limited or refused depending on the nursing activities at the patients’ bed around the given time slot.
Paediatrics:
  • The rooming-in of one parent/legal guardian/designated carer remains unchanged, the child may have one (1) visitor and it is requested that this visitor remains the same person throughout the admission.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL VISITORS
  • Any visitor who fails to adhere to the Busamed guidelines, is abusive or aggressive to staff will be required to leave and will not be allowed to visit again
  • Any visitor who is showing any signs of illness will be asked to leave
  • A visitor register will be maintained for every patient in the clinical area visited
  • All visitors must record the correct information in the visitors register when entering the clinical area
  • Busamed reserves the right to change the Visiting Policy at any time
