1.5 Tesla MRI Scanner

It is extremely efficient, leading to shorter examination times. It provides a more pleasant patient experience, since the shorter size of the magnet bore relieves the sense of confinement patients associate with most MRI scanners.

The higher resolution of the 3 Tesla MRI produces more detailed images, which are beneficial when diagnosing pathological conditions involving the brain, spine, and musculoskeletal system.

The resolution and clarity also allow radiologists to identify smaller lesions and anatomical structures that cannot be seen with less powerful machines. It allows for more sophisticated imaging procedures with more accurate diagnosis. It lowers the risk of distorted images, thus eliminating the need for repeated scans.

The realities are some patients have arrhythmias, fast heart rates or are obese, and pediatric patients squirm, these patients are not accommodated on the normal 64-slice CT scanner, with results being inaccurate.

Digital radiography

Digital radiography typically reduces radiation exposure by 75% or more, that mean our patients will notice a higher level of care when we use digital X-ray equipment.

Digital X-ray systems lets us control the exposure of each image in real time, so we can make images darker or lighter on demand. We can also enlarge images, make enhancements to colour and superimpose textures. These features improve our ability to detect disease and its current state.

They also provide immediate visuals for compelling patient education. All this adds up to faster diagnosis and greater treatment plan acceptance.

4 Operating theatres (1 laminar flow theatre)

Our state-of-the-art operating theatres ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.

Our laminar flow theatre works to prevent airborne bacteria from getting into open wounds, as well as removing and reducing levels of bacteria on exposed surgical instruments, surgeons and our patient’ own skin.


laparoscopic surgery has the advantages of avoiding large open wounds or incisions and thus of decreasing blood loss, pain and discomfort.

Patients have fewer unwanted effects from analgesia because less analgesia is required. The fine instruments are less apt to cause tissue trauma and blood loss.

Advanced Neonatal ICU (NNICU) ventilators

The Lung Protection tools in the CARESCAPE R860 calculate FRC, providing us with data for determining the optimal PEEP setting for our patients.

Nutritional Assessment: The CARESCAPE R860 offers advanced tools for Indirect Calorimetry measurements that are measured, not estimated. The Metabolics feature in the CARESCAPE R860 has the potential to support improved patient outcomes, reduce infection rates and shorten the length of stay in the NNICU. The GE gas module measures inhaled and exhaled gases which the specialist can use to assess a patient’s nutritional status.

Weaning Support: Prolonged ventilation is associated with a host of complications that can have significant health and cost implications. Spontaneous Breathing Trial (SBT) is a mode of ventilation on the CARESCAPE R860 that allows clinicians to administer trials in a consistent manner while providing continuous trending and documentation of results to assess progress during trials. By easily navigating to see your patient’s history, you know when they’re ready to breathe on their own.

X-Ray Flouroscopy

Fluoroscopy is an imaging technique commonly used by physicians to obtain real-time moving images of internal structures of the patient through the use of a fluoroscope. A fluoroscope consists of an X-ray source and fluorescent screen between which a patient is placed.

This technology is very helpful to surgeons when performing surgical procedures. Interventional fluoroscopy has tremendous advantages over invasive surgical procedures because it requires a very small incision which substantially reduces recovery time and reduces risk of infection for the patient.

Fluoroscopy can be used in any of the following situations: Blood flow studies, Orthopedic surgery, Angiography of the leg, heart and cerebral vessels, Catheter insertion, Enemas, Urological surgery, Implantation of pacemakers.

This extremely rare equipment (In South Africa) is a state-of-the-art premium solution for complex spine surgical procedures. Designed with safety and maximum OR efficiency in mind, the AAT offers a modern and intuitive user interface with convenience features such as central locking casters and a multi-control pendant.

In addition, the AAT can be used in conjunction with our new Lateral to Prone (L2P™) Platform, which allows for simple and convenient repositioning of the patient from the Lateral to the Prone position without the need to move the patient to a new table.
